The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on Thursday that North Korea had fired unidentified missiles from its east coast.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Joint Chiefs of Staff did not provide details of the projectile, but Japan said North Korea had fired at least one projectile, possibly a ballistic missile, into the eastern waters of the Korean Peninsula.
The move comes four days after an artillery drill and a week after a failed test of a long-range missile system.
