Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by telephone with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war.
In this conversation, Erdogan emphasized the observance of the humanitarian situation in the field and the two-way crossing of human corridors effectively and without any problems.
"Turkey has shown a sincere approach to peace between Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the war," he said.
Creating a lasting ceasefire will pave the way for a long-term solution. We sincerely seek the positive outcome of the Russia-Ukraine meeting.
"We need the agreement of the leaders in Istanbul or Ankara to reach an understanding in some areas," he said, adding that war was of no use to either side and that diplomacy should be given a chance.
Erdogan also spoke by telephone with Vladimir Zelenskyy on Wednesday. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşo .lu also arrived in Russia on Wednesday and met with his Ukrainian counterpart on Thursday.
