Friday, 18 March 2022 (YJC)_ Ukrainian officials say several Russian cruise missiles have hit a building near a western city from the Black Sea.
Russia has targeted targets near the city's airport, said Andrei Sadovi, mayor of Lviv, a city in western Ukraine near the Polish border.
According to Reuters, Russian missiles hit the area around Lviv airport on Friday, but the airport itself was not damaged.
A building repair site near the city's airport was targeted by cruise missiles shortly afterwards, Sky News reported, quoting the Ukrainian military.
The Ukrainian military claims the missiles were fired from the Black Sea. A Sky News reporter also said that several explosions were heard in the city this morning after the alarm sounded in Luivo.
Prior to the start of the Russian "special operation" in Ukraine, many foreign nationals and diplomats were transferred to the city of Lviv, some of whom are still present in the city.
