Wednesday, 16 March 2022 (YJC)_ Iran’s Permanent Ambassador to the UN said that the country supports the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in fighting Islamophobia.

Takht-Ravanchi: We Support OIC's Endeavors in Fighting IslamophobiaAddressing the UN General Assembly, Iran’s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi said that the country supports the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in fighting Islamophobia.

On Tuesday, the United Nations has voted in favor of a resolution naming March 15 as International Day to Combat Islamophobia.

Takht-Ravanchi referred to this and said “marking this occasion, a better understanding of Islam and Islamic principles could be generated, the resolution show we are determined to effectively combat Islamophobia. Over the past decades, some media outlets, politicians, influencers, provoke anti-Islam and anti-Muslim agitation chronically.”

He also said “To adopt a unified stance in the face of instances of Islamophobia is important, terrorism, in all its forms and representations, cannot and should not be attributed to any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group.”
