Sunday, 13 March 2022 (YJC)_ The State Department responded to a rocket attack on two Mossad bases in Erbil, Iraq, this morning.
Some Iraqi sources reported the sound of horrific explosions in the city of Erbil in the Iraqi Kurdistan region on Sunday morning, and the Saberin News channel reported that dozens of explosions shook the city of Erbil.
Following the initial news, Al Jazeera reported that "a new building under construction by the US Consulate in Erbil" was the target of tonight's missile strike.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, a senior US State Department official condemned the attack.
We condemn the shameful attack on our consulate in Erbil, and the Iraqi and Kurdish authorities are investigating this incident.
The US official also said that the US consulate complex was not damaged and that "the attack on the US consulate in Erbil did not cause any casualties or damage."
