Saturday, 12 March 2022 (YJC)_ Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN blasted politicizing the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
In his remarks during a meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East with special focus on the implementation of the CWC in Syria, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi condemned certain countries for politicizing the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
He criticized the UNSC for its unnecessary focus on Syria, and noted “Politicizing the implementation of the CWC and exploiting the OPCW for the pollical goals.”
Takht ravanchi went on to add that “Iran repeatedly utters its opposition to the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, at any time, and under any circumstances.
