German Chancellor Olaf Schultz said on Friday that talks with Russia over Ukraine should not be cut.
Speaking after the EU summit, he added:
The most important thing is to silence the sound of the weapon.
The German Chancellor added:
Negotiations are great, but they should not be prolonged as people's lives, buildings, infrastructure and aspirations are being destroyed every day.
He continued:
We do not decide for the Ukrainians, and they have to decide what is right for their country in the face of this dangerous situation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone on Thursday with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Schultz.
