According to a report on Thursday evening by Al-Manar news website, Hezbollah's parliamentary faction announced in part:
The faction regrets Lebanon's official position on the ongoing conflict between Russia on the one hand and the United States and its allies on the other hand towards Ukraine, and strongly opposes it.

The following is the statement:
The faction condemns the US government and its policies aimed at imposing hegemony on the people and countries, and categorically rejects its apparent interference in Lebanon's internal affairs.

The Al-Wafa Laqqawmah faction also condemned the US attempt to impose custody on Lebanon and determine its national interests.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry condemned in a statement on February 24 what it described as an "invasion of Ukrainian territory" and called on Russia to "immediately cease its military operations and withdraw its forces as soon as possible." "Let this country go."

Following the announcement, the Russian embassy explained in a statement:
Russia has not waged a war, but a special purpose aimed at protecting a number of Russian citizens at the request of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics and after the recognition of these two republics by President Vladimir Putin.
