Thursday, 10 March 2022 (YJC)_ Two informed sources say that one of the engines of the former US president's plane has failed and the plane has been forced to return to New Orleans airport.
US media reported on Thursday morning the emergency landing of a plane carrying former US President Donald Trump.
"Trump's plane made an emergency landing Saturday night after his speech at a donor residence hosted by the Republican National Committee in New Orleans," Politico quoted two informed sources as saying.
A source pointed out that the incident took place on Saturday evening (local time), saying:
The plane was in the air for 20 to 30 minutes until one of the engines failed and the pilot of the private jet decided to turn around and return to New Orleans Airport.
The plane was reportedly heading to Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump resides on his Mar-a-Lago property.
According to a source involved in the audio recording of the aircraft, the sound of communications between the pilot and the air traffic control tower indicates that the landing was described as "emergency in nature".
However, another person informed about the use of the word "emergency" announces the need to land.
According to Politico, Trump's spokesmen and the Republican National Assembly declined to comment.
