Riyadh and Cairo issued a joint statement Tuesday evening after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to the website of Al-Yawm Al-Sabeeh newspaper, this joint statement deals with the developments and internal issues of various countries, including Iran. According to the statement, the two sides called on Iran to "seriously and effectively address the Iranian nuclear and missile case with all its components and consequences."
The same paragraph also emphasizes the "principles of good neighborliness and respect for UN resolutions and legitimate international resolutions and the protection of the region from all destabilizing activities."
In another part of the statement, Riyadh and Cairo also condemned the attempt to undermine the maritime security in the Persian Gulf, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea, while emphasizing the guarantee of freedom of navigation in these maritime corridors and the need to counter any threat.
In the joint statement, Saudi Arabia and Egypt also stressed the importance of finding a political solution to the crisis in Yemen, Syria and Libya.
The two sides also discussed the internal affairs of Iraq and expressed hope that a government would be formed in the country that would continue to work for the security and stability of Iraq, while developing these measures, eradicating terrorism and foreign interference in the internal affairs of Iraq.
