Abdul Latif al-Qanu, spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), congratulated the martyrdom operation on Monday evening in occupied Jerusalem.
Abdul Rahman Jamal Qasim, a 22-year-old Palestinian man, stabbed two Zionist soldiers today in al-Qatanin Bazaar in occupied Jerusalem, and then himself was shot dead by the occupying forces.
A Hamas spokesman stressed:
The crimes of the occupying regime and its terrorism against the revolutionary youth of Palestine and its attacks on the people of Jerusalem and the West Bank do not prevent them from continuing to respond to the crimes of the enemy and intensifying widespread resistance until the occupation is destroyed.
Al-Qanoo stressed that the intensification of martyrdom operations in Jerusalem and throughout the West Bank is a testament to our nation's commitment to the option of inclusive resistance, which is the best way to defend the land and sanctuaries and prevent the enemy from continuing its crimes.
He added:
The occupying regime must know that the blood of the martyrs will never be wasted and our nation will continue on this path until the liberation and return of the displaced.
Tariq Izz al-Din, spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, also said:
This courageous operation is a natural response to the brutal crimes committed by the occupying regime against the children and innocent people of Palestine, as well as a response to the aggression in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and in Palestinian towns and villages.
He emphasized:
The cost of confrontation and resistance is less than retreat and surrender, and we emphasize that the only option for our nation to regain its right to resistance is to destroy the occupying regime throughout the Palestinian territories.
