According to the website of the representative office of al-Nujaba in Iran, Nasr al-Shammari, the official spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement, delivered a televised speech on the occasion of Veterans Day in which he offered his congratulations on the Sha’baniyyah holidays, “The leadership of the Islamic Resistance has established the anniversary of the birth anniversary of Hadhrat Abul-Fadhl al-Abbas (a) as an occasion to celebrate the veteran mujahidin (warriors), and we in the Islamic Resistance are proud of our veteran warriors.”
al-Shammari referred to the daily attempts to exterminate the warriors online and the spreading of lies and sedition against the veterans and martyrs of the Resistance and said, “They still continue their acts of self-sacrifice and efforts. The warriors entered the arena of jihad not only for their own belief but also to maintain peace in the region and to defend the national security of Iraq.”
He continued his speech by emphasizing on public confrontation with the United States, stating, “We welcome the strong blows inflicted on the bases of the occupiers as good omens and we will continue to do so until the government of the United States respects the sovereignty of Iraq.”
The spokesman of al-Nujaba also announced the improvement of the facilities and weapons of the Iraqi Resistance and added, “We call on all the occupying forces to leave our territory. We will support any honourable Iraqi who launches an operation against the occupiers to defend himself.”
al-Shammari strongly criticized the occupation and the threatening movements of the Turkish army, warning, “The construction of military bases by the occupying Turkish army is prompting the Iraqi people to react. We are not interested in war with Turkey, but if Erdoğan insists on aggression, we will have no choice but to defend our homeland.”
In another part of his speech, he addressed the internal affairs of Iraq and said, “We must note that any armed force in Iraq is only allowed to use its weapons in defence of its beliefs, holy places and national security.”
The deputy secretary-general of al-Nujaba continued, “Despite refraining from entering into political rivalries, the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement has always supported the political process, and we deeply regret that some movements, with the support of regional regimes, are trying to create a rift among the people.”
al-Shammari called on all Iraqi political forces to follow the constitution and noted, “We rely on the rationality of some political actors to avoid the negative consequences of discord and division.”
He called on all parties, including the Kurdistan Regional Government, to respect the decisions of the Federal Supreme Court, adding, “The al-Nujaba Movement sends greetings to political forces that respect the ruling of the judiciary and sees the rejection of the rulings of the judiciary as a prelude to unrest.”
The official spokesman of al-Nujaba advised the Iraqi government to refrain from taking sides in international conflicts and at the same time to serve the interests of its people by engaging with cooperating countries.
At the end of his televised speech, al-Shammari emphasized solidarity with the people of Yemen, Lebanon and Bahrain and said, “Congratulations on the successive victories of the Yemeni people and armed forces in legitimate military operations against the aggressor governments. We also congratulate Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah on the successful flight of Hezbollah’s drone, which the Zionist enemy was unable to counter. At the same time, we reiterate that the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement stands with the people of Bahrain and supports their just demands against the criminal Al Khalifah regime.”
