Yesterday (Sunday), Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, in a meeting with US diplomats, stressed the need to resolve issues through peaceful means and reciprocal dialogue.
According to the official Iraqi government news agency WA, and according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, Jennifer Gavito, US Deputy Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq, and Matthew Toller, US Ambassador to Iraq, met with Mustafa al-Kadhimi.
During the meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister and US diplomats discussed some regional, international and other issues of common concern to Baghdad and Washington. During the meeting, al-Kadhimi stressed the need to resolve problems through peaceful means and reciprocal dialogue, and stressed the need for this principle to ensure the security of the region and the stability and prosperity of its nations.
According to the statement, in addition to discussing the Baghdad-Washington bilateral relationship, the two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in the light of the results of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States. These collaborations will take place in a variety of areas, including economic investment, the energy sector, renewable energy and ways to tackle climate change.
