Tehran, YJC. Cyber security organization has called for protection of the country’s cyber infrastructure against new malware.

Mohammad Reza Farajipour said that organizations which control Iran's infrastructural
online facilities have been warned of the newly found threat of the malware
Regin.
He further explained that the malware seems to be collecting
information rather than conducting attacks.
He said Iran is among the countries targeted by the malware.
Regin is sophisticated stealthy malware revealed by
Kaspersky Lab and Symantec in November that targets specific users of
Microsoft Windows-based computers.
Among computers infected worldwide by Regin, 28 percent were
in Russia, 24 percent in Saudi Arabia, 9 percent each in Mexico and Ireland,
and 5 percent in each of India, Afghanistan, Iran, Belgium, Austria and
Pakistan, reports say.
