Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasim reacted to the brutal attack by Israeli police on Palestinians during the anniversary of the Ascension of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Bab al-Amoud area of Jerusalem.
He said:
The aggression against the Palestinians in the city of Jerusalem on the anniversary of the capture and ascension of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a crime, barbaric behavior and terrorist policy, and this aggression is a game of fire and real explosion, as happened before the battle of the Quds Sword. The worshipers who were performing religious rites violated all human laws and values, and this means the complete disregard of the occupying regime for the feelings of all Arabs and Muslims.
According to the Rai Al-Youm newspaper, the Hamas spokesman also emphasized:
These aggressions will never break the will of the Palestinians in Jerusalem, and they will continue to defend the identity of the city with whatever they have.
Occupying Zionist forces attacked Palestinian citizens who had gathered in the courtyard of Bab al-Amoud in Jerusalem to mark the anniversary of the capture and ascension of the Prophet (PBUH) on Monday afternoon (yesterday), injuring at least 31 Palestinians.
