Tuesday, 1 March 2022 (YJC)_ The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon spoke at the opening of a conference marking the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Abbas al-Musawi in Beirut.

Speech by Seyed Hassan Nasrallah at the anniversary of the martyrdom of the second Secretary General of Hezbollah in LebanonToday (Tuesday, March 1), the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of Seyyed Abbas Al-Musawi, inaugurated a conference entitled "Our Martyrs; Thought and Life "gave a speech in Beirut.

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, referring to the need to document all the sacrifices of the resistance fighters, added:
The Lebanese and Palestinian resistance fighters are portrayed around the world as thieves, murderers and drug dealers, and we do not know what they will look like in 50 years.

He clarified:
Therefore, it is our duty to document this original idea, the great sacrifices and the glorious truth of this blessed movement, and the lectures and discussions related to the activities of this conference should be turned into books and approved documents.

Hezbollah Secretary General, referring to the biography of the second Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, said:
The concern of Sayyid Abbas al-Musawi was Islam, and in the circle of Islam, he was a student of the school of "Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr" and after his martyrdom, he followed the school of thought of Imam Khomeini (as). Both schools were complementary and consistent with each other. Seyyed Abbas's main concern and issue was Islam and the call to Islam with all available tools and facilities.

He clarified:
Seyyed Abbas al-Musawi firmly believed in the culture of performing duties and believed in the important role of religious scholars in religious propaganda, and believed in the establishment of local seminaries alongside major seminaries in Iraq and Iran. Which led him to establish a seminary in Baalbek. He also believed in the role of women in religious propaganda.

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah continued:
Seyyed Abbas believed in the Palestinian cause and the need to confront the Zionist enemy, and had good and strong relations with the residents of the camps and the leaders of the Palestinian groups.

He then referred to the position of Iran in the view of Seyyed Abbas Al-Musawi and said:
In his view, Iran was a major country for the Islamic Ummah, and he stressed the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its role in the conflict with Israel, and believed that Iran stood by the Islamic Ummah and supported its interests.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon stated:
Seyyed Abbas Al-Musawi had a position like that of Imam Khomeini regarding the United States, and he considered it the great devil, the cause of all the problems of the Islamic Ummah and a real enemy that should be confronted and trusted and referred to.

He added:
In today's world, too, the insight of Seyyed Abbas is needed in the face of the changes that are taking place.

In the final part of his speech at the conference, he referred to the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the possibility of the start of World War III, and said:
The consequences of the Russia-Ukraine crisis are dangerous for the world and there is every possibility. We want to follow the developments of the current conflict between the two sides and learn from what is happening there.

Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah explained:
With the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, some endorsed it, some condemned it, and some declared neutrality. What is important here is to follow this global event and learn from it every hour and every day. Given what is happening today between Russia and Ukraine, it is feared that the situation will go beyond the Russia-Ukraine war. What is happening today has many lessons to be learned in the region.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon further pointed to the duality in the positions and international standards in the face of similar developments in different countries and said:
There are double standards in dealing with different countries of the world. We have the question, how did the world react when the United States invaded Afghanistan and Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of people, and how does it react now to Russia's entry into Ukraine and the start of a war and military operation?

He added:
The United States is responsible for what is happening in Ukraine now, because it provoked and fueled the conflict, did not help to reach a diplomatic solution, did not do anything to stop the war, but put more pressure to start it. But who will pay the price in the end? People of Russia and Ukraine! So when the whole world is in danger, it is America that will win.
