Tuesday, 1 March 2022 (YJC)_ Calling for Russia's expulsion from the permanent membership of the UN Security Council, the President of Ukraine stressed the need to establish a no-fly zone over his country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday morning called on his Western allies to do so, saying it was time to impose a no-fly zone over the country's airspace.
Referring to Western sanctions against Russia, Zelenskyy claimed:
They destroyed the Russian economy to show that humanity is capable of defending itself. Russia fired 56 missiles and 113 cruise missiles at Ukraine over five days.
"After the bombing of Kharkiv, a no-fly zone should be established over Ukraine," he was quoted as saying by Reuters.
It's time to think about creating a no-fly zone for Russian planes, helicopters and missiles.
The President of Ukraine, requesting the expulsion of Russia from the permanent membership of the UN Security Council, claimed:
A country that has committed war crimes should not be a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
According to the report, Zelenskyy added:
Talks were held today with the Russians on the impact of the bombing of Ukrainian cities and territories. Negotiations with Russia have not yet reached a favorable outcome for Ukraine.
The TRT network also reported:
Zelenskyy signed a temporary visa waiver order for any foreigner wishing to fight on the Ukrainian side against Russian forces.
