Tehran, YJC. Former MP says that Western schemes to bring the country to its knees through pressure on its nuclear program have failed.
Former member of parliament Nurollah Heidari speaking in
interview with ISNA said that Iran has not sustained any loss from the nuclear
talks.
"The West believes that it has made a political gain in
terms of the diplomacy of discourse and public opinion.”
"The West things that for the situations to continue would
be challenging to Iran and that they would find outmaneuver us in a better
political negotiation atmosphere.”
Heidari added "The extension of the talks is in favor of the
West in terms of discourse, because the Western community is seeking to extend
the sanctions and it believes that sanctions have brought Iran to the
negotiation table. So the West believes that if sanctions are prolonged, Iran would
surrender some day at last.”
It is not the sanctions in fact which has brought Iran to
the negotiations table, he asserted, adding "This is not a true argument to say
that Iran would surrender if sanctions are extended, since the current that
rules the country as well as the Supreme Leader himself oversee the talks. But,
I believe that the negotiation team must have acted from a more powerful
position anyway and it must have dated a deadline.”
