Monday, 28 February 2022 (YJC)_ The Iraqi National Security Adviser met with the Canadian Ambassador in Baghdad to discuss the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Qassim al-Araji, Iraq's national security adviser, met with Canadian Ambassador to Baghdad Gregory Galligan to discuss the latest political and security developments in the region and the world, as well as the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
According to Al-Furat News, Al-Araji also praised Canada's efforts to fight ISIS and counter extremism, and thanked the Canadian government for its support to Iraq.
He noted that the Iraqi government has made great efforts to accommodate the 1,750 women and children in the Al-Hul camp.
The two sides also stressed the need for continued cooperation between Iraq and Canada in the fight against terrorism and its financial, human and media resources.
