Sunday, 27 February 2022 (YJC)_ The Iranian embassy in Budapest announced in a statement: Iranian citizens can enter Hungary to return to the country without the need for a Hungarian visa and only by having a valid passport and presenting a legal residence card in Ukraine.

The announcement states:
Dear Compatriots, The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Budapest on the first day of the state of emergency in Ukraine, with the aim of helping Iranian compatriots living in this country, set up a headquarters to support and follow them. The Ambassador of our country, as the head of this headquarters, met with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the aim of facilitating the passage of compatriots through Hungary and their return to our country. Facilities for dear Iranian compatriots to return to our country faster through Hungary talked on the phone.

This announcement adds:
Accordingly, the Hungarian authorities, while announcing their readiness to assist their Iranian compatriots in returning to the country, announced that all Iranian citizens can return to Hungary without the need for a Hungarian visa and only with a valid passport and legal residence card in Ukraine.

The embassy is fully prepared to make the necessary arrangements for the return of compatriots living in Ukraine to the country through Hungary.
