Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said at a ceremony honoring the winners of the Arab Prize for the best doctoral dissertation in law and justice in the Arab world, which was held yesterday in Beirut:
Lebanon pursues a policy of neutrality and cannot stand in the trenches of one side and communicate with the other side.
According to Al-Akhbar, Mikati added:
It is unfair to impose something on our country that it cannot bear. We expect the Arab brothers to understand this fact well and to stand by Lebanon in order to protect it from dangers and to help us bear the burdens that are beyond our power.
Addressing the Arab countries, the Lebanese Prime Minister said:
Lebanon needs your support at this particular stage to revive itself. Lebanon is facing an unprecedented crisis at all levels, relying on the support of its Arab brothers and friends, and using all available capacities to try to resolve the crises.
