Friday, 25 February 2022 (YJC)_ The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that Russian forces in Ukraine do not target civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed on Friday that Russian forces had no intention of targeting Ukrainian civilians.
"Lavrov told the Xinhua network:
I urge you to read Putin's remarks. No attacks are being carried out on civilian infrastructure, Ukrainian military personnel in dormitories or other locations associated with their military installations. The statistics we have show this.
The Russian Foreign Minister said:
We do not intend to degrade the Ukrainian military, but to prevent neo-Nazis and those who speak of genocide.
The Russian official added:
There are currently two external mechanisms controlling the Kiev regime. First America and the West and second neo-Nazis.
Various Western governments have imposed several sanctions packages on Russian officials and increased military support for Ukraine since the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine yesterday.
On the second day of clashes in Ukraine this morning, several explosions were heard in the capital, followed by an alarm. The Ukrainian military says it is confronting Russian forces near the north of Kiev who are planning to enter the city.
