After lengthy meetings of European representatives in Brussels, the European Union announced on Friday that it had imposed a massive sanctions package on Moscow over its "Russian invasion of Ukraine."
According to the Anatolian News Agency, the sanctions cover Russia's economy, energy and transportation sectors, as well as measures to restrict visas and tighten controls on imports of Russian goods.
The sanctions, which cover 70 percent of Russian banks and state-owned companies, impose restrictions on Russia's access to European technology products.
