Friday, 25 February 2022 (YJC)_ The quadripartite meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Information Exchange Center was held in Baghdad with the participation of the ambassadors of Iran, Iraq, Russia and Syria.

Counter-terrorism meeting of the Iran-Iraq-Russia-Syria coalition in BaghdadIraqi National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji met with the ambassadors of Russia, Syria and Iran at the Quartet Information Exchange Center in Baghdad on Thursday.

The participants discussed the reality of the situation on the Iraqi-Syrian border and the latest security developments in the region.

Al-Araji praised the friendly and brotherly countries of Iraq in monitoring and pursuing terrorist movements, saying: "Cooperation and joint action with these countries has led to strong and deterrent blows to terrorism and its leaders."

He added:
The quadripartite information exchange center plays a role in informing and resolving many issues, and its formation is a positive point.

"Iraq will not allow the presence of terrorist groups on its borders," al-Araji said.
There is a concern that there is a plan for the return of terrorists and their spread in the region, which could lead to instability.

Iraq's national security adviser said:
What happened recently in al-Hasakah prison, where the terrorists have been in control for a whole week, is proof that the Syrian democratic forces are not able to protect this place.

He stressed the importance of continuing the work of the quadripartite information exchange center and further supporting it and said:
This center can strengthen the close relationship between the countries that participated in this center in difficult and sensitive circumstances, and Iraq will respect those who stood by it during the difficult days.
