Wednesday, 23 February 2022 (YJC)_ Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan met with the Afghan Foreign and Energy Ministers to discuss the economic situation, bilateral relations and the issue of water and energy in the country.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian president's special envoy for Afghanistan, met today (Wednesday) with Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi and the Taliban Minister of Energy and Water Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour.
According to the Taliban Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the situation in Afghanistan and cooperation between the two countries to invest in mining, agriculture, energy and railways.
Afghanistan's economic situation, political relations and positive developments were among the important topics of the meeting. During the meeting, Mottaqi called the talks between Iranian and Afghan officials fruitful and stressed the need to strengthen relations.
Also during the meeting, the Taliban Minister of Energy and Water announced the group's position on water and electricity.
