In a statement released on Tuesday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reacted to the latest developments in Ukraine and said NATO’s interference made conditions in the region more complicated.
He announced that “Iran is closely watching developments in Ukraine,” and urged all sides to refrain from any action that would increase tensions.
“NATO’s provocative moves led by the US have made conditions in the region more complicated,” he noted.
On Monday, Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and ordered to deploy a peacekeeping mission in Donbass.
