Monday, 21 February 2022 (YJC)_ Iranian Oil Minister said the US unilateral sanctions are against international law and threaten global energy security.
In his remarks ahead of the meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Doha, Iranian Oil Minister, Javad Owji said the US unilateral sanctions are against international law and threaten global energy security.
“So far, despite the difficult conditions due to Coronavirus outbreak, the GECF members have played their role properly,” he said while describing Iran as one of the countries that have the largest natural gas reserves in the world.
He went on to add “With its 338,000 kilometers of the domestic gas supply network Iran is one of the leading countries in this field, however the unilateral sanctions impede the flow of natural gas and threaten the security of the natural gas supply.”
He finally put emphasis on the need of depoliticizing international and global gas cooperation and said “the unilateral sanctions against members of the GECF members are against international law and threaten global energy security.”
