Shamkhani: Negotiations with the United States are not on the agenda of the Iranian negotiating team
Monday, 21 February 2022 (YJC)_ The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council tweeted today: "Negotiating with the United States is not on the agenda of the Iranian negotiating team because it will not be the source of any opening."
Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, tweeted today (Monday):
The Vienna talks have been going on from the beginning between Iran and the P4 + 1 and the representative of the European Union, and this path will continue unchanged until a result is reached.
He clarified:
Negotiating with the United States is not on the agenda of the Iranian negotiating team because it will not be the source of any openness.
In response to a question at the Munich Security Conference, our Foreign Minister said that the Biden administration is following the same path as Trump:
We have said through mediators that the prospect of dialogue with the United States is not very clear to us and what is the need for direct negotiations if we are not going to achieve anything.
