Monday, 21 February 2022 (YJC)_ In a telephone call with his Zionist counterpart, the Turkish Foreign Minister discussed the preparations for the Zionist regime's visit to Ankara.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu met with his Zionist counterpart Yair Lapid to discuss arrangements for Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit to Turkey.
According to the Al-Khalij Al-Jadeed website, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Lapid wished good health to Cavusoglu, who has coronary heart disease. Herzog is scheduled to travel to Turkey on March 9 and 10.
On February 16, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Herzog's imminent visit to Turkey was a positive step and would have a positive effect on bilateral relations.
Erdogan had previously said he was ready to work with the Zionist regime on a gas pipeline project in the eastern Mediterranean.
Relations between Turkey and the Zionist regime have been strained since 2010 following the killing of 10 Turkish civilians in a Zionist attack on a Turkish naval convoy heading to the Gaza Strip.
