Qatar's Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said at a meeting at the Royal Institute of International Affairs that Qatar has close ties with Iran, the United States and other countries on JCPOA.
Al-Thani clarified:
We are trying to figure out how we can help fill the gap, because there are agreements and negotiations between countries that are thousands of miles away from Iran, but we live in Iran's neighborhood.
According to the Lebanese Al-Nashra website, the Qatari foreign minister also stressed that it is in Qatar's interest to reach an agreement, and that it is in our interest to reach an agreement with Iran, after which an agreement will be reached between Iran and the GCC member states.
Al-Thani encouraged all parties to engage positively and constructively with the initiatives and expressed hope that a positive outcome would be achieved in the near future.
