Tehran, YJC. Iran's Navy commander says the country’s 32nd fleet’s mission is to make the country’s trade safe.

Navy Commander Rear-admiral Habibollah Sayyari on Wednesday said "Showing off its presence in free waters, the Navy has repelled almost all of the maritime attacks on Iranian ships.”

"We are soon to go around Africa and make it to the Pacific Ocean. So we are going to show off Iran's off-shore naval force as a strategic and internationally influential unit.”

He added "Sending reporters on board Bushehr and Jamaran warships to cover how ships are escorted and how pirate attacks are repelled has met with great domestic and international feedback. We are planning to make use of reporters in future missions as well.”

In answer to questions about future projects he said "To tap into 3D radars and domestically-manufactured X ray, to make operational the missile cruiser fire control project, and to incorporate the fully overhauled air carrier and helicopters are among the projects that will be completed on December 1.”
