Amir-Abdollahian: The United States and the West are responsible for the possible failure of the talks

Sunday, 20 February 2022 (YJC)_ The Iranian foreign minister blamed the United States and its Western allies for any possible failure of the Vienna talks, but stressed that the Iranian team is working with optimism and seriousness to reach a good agreement.

Amir-Abdollahian: The United States and the West are responsible for the possible failure of the talksThe Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, expressed his optimism that a good agreement would be reached in the Vienna talks.

Amir-Abdollahian said in an interview with "Kristin Amanpour", the host of CNN network, on Saturday evening:
The part that goes back to the Islamic Republic of Iran, why are we optimistic? Because the government of Dr. Raisi has a serious will to reach a good agreement in Vienna.

In this interview, a short part of which was published by Amanpour on his Twitter page, he explains:
The government of Dr. Raeisi emphasizes and is interested in reaching a good and immediate agreement.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that we have made great efforts in the past to reach a good agreement, added:
In these critical moments and the critical circumstances of our negotiations in Vienna, if the United States and the West do not act [realistically], they will surely be responsible for the possible failure of the negotiations.

Amir-Abdollahian also emphasized:
But we are working optimistically, seriously, to reach a good agreement in Vienna.
