The foreign ministers of Iran and Sweden met in New York in October this year.

Referring to the sensitivity of the situation in the West Asian region and the continuing crisis in Yemen and Afghanistan, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the situation in Yemen:

Referring to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and the growing trend of refugees from this country, our Foreign Minister said:
The Islamic Republic of Iran, as the host country of more than a few million Afghan refugees, alone can not bear the full burden of this crisis.

Amir Abdullahian pointed to Iran's ongoing efforts and role in helping to stabilize stability and security in the region, including the formation of a government in Iraq as soon as possible, and the hopeful talks in the Persian Gulf region to ensure stability and security by countries in the region.

The head of the diplomatic corps of the Islamic Republic of Iran also referred to some consular issues, including the situation of Hamid Nouri, and said: "It is not acceptable that the relations between the two countries be targeted by the conspiracies of the terrorist group of MEK."
