Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi met with his Kuwaiti and Qatari counterparts to discuss the political and security situation in the region.
According to the official Iraqi government news agency Waa, and in a statement issued by the media office of the speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Mohammad al-Halbousi hosted the speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marzouq al-Ghanim, and the speaker of the Qatari parliament, Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem, yesterday.
The meeting took place at the Iraqi embassy in Cairo on the sidelines of the 32nd session of the Union of Arab Parliaments, according to a statement issued by the Al-Halbousi Media Office.
The statement added:
During the meeting, the political situation and security in the region were discussed; The need for coordination and reaching common positions in Arab, Islamic and international circles is another issue that has been emphasized.
Mohammed al-Halbousi traveled to Egypt three days ago at the head of an Iraqi delegation to attend the 32nd session of the Union of Arab Parliaments. The meeting will last for two days, and Cairo is scheduled to host the speakers of the Arab parliaments.
The delegations invited to the 32nd session of the Arab Parliamentary Union and the Speakers of the Parliaments are working to discuss the most important issues in the region, especially the security-economic challenges and the political developments in the Arab world, under the title "Arab Solidarity".
