Local sources reported the sound of an explosion in the Damascus sky on Thursday morning.
The Palestinian news agency Shahab reported that O'Hilar, a correspondent for Israel's Channel 13 television, said that the Israeli army had attacked an area near Damascus.
Israeli intelligence sources quoted Yedioth Ahronoth, a correspondent for the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, as saying that the Zionists had been waiting for several days for the operation to be carried out, and that the Russians had not stopped it.
"The Khan al-Sheikh area west of Damascus has been targeted by an Israeli attack," Al-Arabiya quoted its correspondent in Damascus as saying.
Some news sources also said that at the same time, Israeli fighter jets flew at low altitudes in the Lebanese sky.
