Wednesday, 16 February 2022 (YJC)_ The foreign minister called the Vienna talks a step forward and said that some important issues were still ahead of us, adding that a final agreement depended on "responsible behavior" by the West.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, tweeted, referring to his telephone conversation with Joseph Borrell, the European Union's foreign policy chief:
We spoke with Joseph Borrell about the latest status of the Vienna talks.
He added:
Observing Iran's red lines is of fundamental importance to us.
The Foreign Minister reminded:
The trend is ahead, but there are still some important issues ahead.
Referring to the Iranian side's initiatives in the negotiations, Amir-Abdollahian noted:
The initiatives of the Iranian side have made the agreement available, but the final agreement is subject to the "responsible behavior" of the Western side.
