Tuesday, 15 February 2022 (YJC)_ The Arab League's military adviser to the secretary general said that Syria's return to the union would be very close and that ideas had been put forward for its return.
Mahmoud Khalifa, the Arab League's secretary general for military affairs, said that Syria's seat in the union had not been revoked, but that Syria's membership had been suspended until certain conditions were met in Syria and within the Arab world.
"Syria's return [to the Arab League] will be very close," the news website reported, quoting the caliph. "There are ideas for its return."
He also expressed hope for stability in Syria and its strengthening. Syria's membership in the Arab League was suspended at the same time as the war against the country in 2011.
Meanwhile, some Arab countries are trying to return Syria to the Arab League and resolve the issue at the next meeting of the union. According to Arab sources, the UAE is constantly consulting on this issue and plans to return Damascus. Decide on this issue to the Arab League.
