Tuesday, 15 February 2022 (YJC)_ In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, the Russian Foreign Minister praised Iran's initiative and constructive approach in the Vienna talks.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke by telephone with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, to discuss bilateral relations and some issues of common concern in the regional and international arena, including the Vienna talks.
While appreciating the initiative and constructive approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the Vienna talks, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed the need for continued consultations and talks between the various parties to the Vienna talks to review the texts and proposals and reach an agreement.
The Russian Foreign Minister also welcomed the hosting of the second P3 + 3 meeting on the South Caucasus by the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed hope that this meeting would further secure the interests and interests of the countries in the region and maintain stability and security in the region.
In this telephone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian also stressed the need to pay attention to the full rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the practice of the other parties to their obligations in any agreement.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country also considered the forthcoming meeting of the second P3 + 3 summit on the South Caucasus as an opportunity for consensus and synergy to deepen regional cooperation in the interests of the countries and people of this region.
