The Irish Foreign Minister, Simon Cavoni, also stressed that the country attaches special importance to the development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
We believe that we are at a strategic stage in our relations with Iran and we want to develop and improve the level of comprehensive relations and in this regard we are determined to reopen our embassy in Tehran.
The Irish Foreign Minister said that the discouragement and frustration of the Iranian people with the confidence in the nuclear talks is understandable due to the indebtedness of the United States.
Ireland believes that the necessary guarantees should be given to Iran during the current negotiations in order to re-establish the agreement.
Prior to the meeting, Sonia McGuinness, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland, presented her credentials to the President.
