Saturday, 12 February 2022 (YJC)_Iranian Supreme Leader pardoned over 3,000 prisoners on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, more than 3,000 prisoners have been pardoned by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Supreme leader agreed to pardon or reduce the sentences of 3,388 prisoners eligible for mitigating circumstances. These prisoners include those found guilty in courts of common pleas and Islamic Revolution tribunals, the Judicial Organization of the Armed Forces and the State Discretionary Punishment Organization.
Prior to this, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei wrote a letter to supreme leader in which he asked to pardon or reduce the sentences of the prisoners found eligible for receiving the clemency by the relevant judicial authority.
On the anniversary of the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, a 10-day celebration is hold in Iran.
