Monday, 7 February 2022 (YJC)_ The hearing session of the trial of ringleader Tondar terrorist group has been held in Iran.
In a plenary court session presided over by Judge Abolqassem Salavati in Tehran, the hearing session of the trial of Jamshid Sharmahd, the ringleader of the US-based Tondar terrorist group, was held.
Sharmahd, is the ringleader of the Tondar (Thunder) terrorist group and accused of committing terror attacks and anti-revolutionary operations against Iran.
In the session, prosecutor's representative, the families of the victims of the group’s terrorist acts and the defendant and his lawyers attended.
According to judicial officials, his trials will be held in two legal and criminal courts.
“Sharmahd intended to carry out 23 terrorist acts, but was successful in only five cases and failed in 18 others, according to the prosecutor's representative Behrouz Hassani Etemad.
Etemad also noted that “Sharmahd had confessed to committing terrorist acts and deadly explosions in a large religious gathering in Shiraz, Imam Khomeini's mausoleum, Sivand Dam and Jahan Hotel.”
