This is the first visit of the Finnish Foreign Minister to Tehran in the thirteenth government. The foreign ministers are scheduled to attend a joint news conference after the meeting.

Amir-Abdollahian and Peka Havisto met on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister said that the new government is interested in pursuing bilateral relations with Finland with more vigor, and in this regard, holding a political committee between the two countries as soon as possible can give new energy to bilateral relations and the government supports this improvement. .

During the meeting, Amir Abdullahian, while announcing the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand economic, trade, industrial and agricultural cooperation between the two countries, as well as the establishment of a direct Tehran-Helsinki flight, stressed the need to support the private sector activities of the two countries.

The Finnish Foreign Minister also announced his country's readiness to help revive the JCPOA.
