The Secretariat of the Yemeni National Congress Party issued a statement today (Sunday) stating that there are strong ties between the leaders of the National Congress and Ansar al-Islam, and that the propaganda and media attacks of "enemy mercenaries" and "traitors" have no effect on this.
According to Sabant News Agency, the National Congress emphasized:
The relationship with Ansar al-Islam goes back to a sacred issue such as the defense of Yemen, its people, its unity, its sovereignty and its independence. We are closely following the developments and the latest political events in the Yemeni media. Especially the positions and words of those who introduce themselves as members of the Congress and are constantly insulting the leaders of the Congress in Sanaa. Those who are either foreign mercenaries or internally ill.
The statement also said that those who cover the Sanaa government and the army and the people's committees in the domestic and foreign media are not members of the National Congress Party and express their personal positions.
The National Congress emphasized that the party's official positions on various issues are expressed only by political leaders led by Sheikh Sadegh Amin Abu Rass and the Central Committee and Secretariat, and that no other position outside or inside Yemen is valid.
The following is the statement of this party:
The positions and words of those who falsely present themselves as members of the party are aimed at creating divisions and doubts on the domestic front, with the aim of serving the aggressors in Yemen, and the enemies want to do what they could not do militarily.
