Saturday, 5 February 2022 (YJC)_ The United States and Poland met in Washington as the United States sent troops and weapons to Poland to bolster NATO's eastern front.

US and Polish foreign ministers meetUS Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rao in Washington on Friday.

The meeting is part of the Poland-US strategic dialogue, according to a State Department statement.

During the meeting, Blinken and Rao discussed regional and collective security issues, including a common commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty over Russia.

"The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and appreciated Poland's role in leading NATO's Eastern Front," the State Department said in a statement.

The Polish Ministry of Defense announced on Friday evening that US military equipment was entering the country to strengthen the eastern front of NATO.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszak said about 1,700 US troops to be deployed in Eastern Europe would enter the country.

In addition, about 300 US troops are stationed at the Joint Command Center in Germany.

The Polish defense minister said on Thursday evening that a group of US troops had arrived in Poland.
