The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Idlib, northwest of Syria.
Images of the wreckage of a helicopter destroyed by US coalition forces in the Atmeh area on the outskirts of Idlib near central Turkey and the Deir Oak crossing (between Idlib and the Afrin region) were leaked to some media outlets, Russia Today reported.
Some US media outlets, including the Associated Press and the New York Times, reported that U.S. forces were forced to shoot down one of the helicopters involved in the operation, which had crashed due to what it called a mechanical problem.
As for the victims of the attack, media sources reported that at least ten people were killed, including a woman and several children, and Al Jazeera reported that US coalition helicopters flew over the Atma and Deir Oak areas on the northern outskirts of Idlib last night. On the outskirts of the town of Atma, they carried out a helicopter operation in which ten people, including seven children, were killed.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden today (Thursday) claimed that Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi, the new leader of ISIS in Syria, had been killed.
