Moscow: We have learned to live with sanctionsRussia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, warned on Tuesday that sanctions against Russia would not only hurt Russia but also provoke a backlash from Moscow.

Emphasizing Russia's response to any sanctions, he said:
Moscow has learned to live with sanctions. If they impose sanctions, it will not only be Russia that will suffer.

Officials from the pro-Western governments of Ukraine, the United States, Britain and some other Western allies have repeatedly claimed in recent weeks that Russia is preparing to attack Ukraine, while threatening Moscow with economic consequences and sanctions. London said Monday evening that sanctions against Russia would be ready by February 10 this year.

The British government has claimed in recent weeks that Moscow is planning an attack on Ukraine and is even seeking to bring a pro-Russian figure to power in Ukraine. British Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace said on Sunday that her government would step up sanctions against Russia over the next few days.
