Monday, 31 January 2022 (YJC)_ During a welcoming ceremony for the Omani Foreign Minister, the Syrian Foreign Minister said that relations between the two countries have never been severed and that Muscat sided with Syria in the war on terror.
Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hammoud al-Busaidi arrived in Damascus today (Monday) at the head of an official delegation at the International Airport.
According to the official Syrian news agency SANA, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad welcomed his Omani counterpart and accompanying delegation, saying:
Relations between us continue and have not been severed. Oman, the brother country, stood by Syria in the war on terrorism.
The Omani Foreign Minister also said:
I am very pleased with the trip to Syria, with which we have strategic relations, and I am eager for consultations and talks in order to develop bilateral relations and strengthen Arab cooperation.
He added:
Oman is eager for the return of Arab cohesion to its normal state and is making every effort in this regard.
