While a technical problem has cut off Iranian gas exports to Turkey over the past week and created problems for the country's economy, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Iranian gas exports will flow over the next 10 to 15 days. It will return to normal completely.
The cessation of Iranian gas exports has forced some Turkish industrial plants to stop production.
In an interview with NTV, Erdogan added:
The government will subsidize electricity bills and consume the energy industry in a controlled manner.
Electricity and gas prices in Turkey have risen sharply this year.
