Wednesday, 26 January 2022 (YJC)_ Russia's envoy to the United Nations said on Tuesday that some Western countries' sending weapons to Ukraine would result in civilian casualties in the east.
"Russia's representative to the United Nations, Gennady Kuzmin, said during a meeting of the UN Security Council that the actions of some Western countries in sending weapons to Ukraine and sending military advisers encouraged Ukraine to take provocative measures."
He added:
This means that civilians continue to be killed in eastern Ukraine, including children, the elderly and women, during Ukraine's undeclared war against the east several years ago.
Western countries, especially the United States, have been sending deadly weapons to Ukraine in recent weeks.
Officials in Kiev and the US government and their allies claim that the presence of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border is a prelude to an attack on the country.
Russia has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of launching a military operation against Ukraine, and the allegations are baseless and false.
