Tuesday, 25 January 2022 (YJC)_ Iranian Foreign Minister rejected the reports about direct talks between Tehran and Washington on JCPOA.
Addressing the First National Conference of Iran and Neighbors in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian rejected the reports about direct talks between Tehran and Washington on JCPOA.
“We will not deny that we may reach a point that progress of JCPOA talks would require some degree of dialogue with the US,” he noted.
Iranian FM went on to criticized E3 for their failing to present any "new, forward-looking and constructive" initiative in the current talks and added “They have made efforts in recent weeks to pursue a rational and constructive attitude but even France does not play an effective role.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, he specifically referred to the current talks in Vienna and said “no direct talks have been held between Iranian and US delegations so far, though US tries to send message in different ways asking for a level of direct negotiations with Iran.”
Currently, the 8th rounds of JCPOA talks are held in Vienna, capital of Austria and “Ali Bagheri Kani” is heading the Iranian delegation.
